"I love the purple crocheted vest with a mandala pattern on the back Krista made me. I wore it to a Frankie Valli concert. I didn't expect her to finish it so quickly; she is so focused on her clients' orders. I'm looking forward to her next creation."

"My First crochet request from Krista @K-ROK Vintage was before Christmas 2022, when I asked her to help create a Christmas Tree toque. And it ROKs! It was quality made, delivered way before the holiday and she added a personal touch with a lovely thank you message and card. Krista...

FAQ

If you still have a question that is not answered here please email your question and I will get back to you.

What kind of yarn do you use? The most common yarn I use is no pill 100% acrylic due to its easy care, softness and durability properties. For custom orders I can work with the client to pick the right yarn for the project such as cotton, wool, bamboo, alpaca, merino, acrylic etc. however different yarns have different textures, care instructions and durability so this needs to be taken into consideration for each garment. Where do you purchase your yarn from? There are a number of retailers that I purchase from depending on what I need and the availability at each store. I do my best to support local yarn shops first, within the Province of Ontario. Some locations where I purchase from include Newmarket, Aurora, Barrie, Peterborough, Bowmanville and Bobcaygeon. However when I need a type of yarn they do not carry I have to branch out to places like Michaels and Walmart or go to the manufacturer directly like Universal Yarns (Based in the USA) and purchase from there. How long does it take to crochet or knit items? Once I have all the materials I need, it can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks or even a month depending on the size and complexity of the piece. How long does it take to procure materials for custom orders? This will depend on if I can get all the materials at local stores or if I need to order them online, or a combination of both. I can usually get everything I need within a week's time or less. If however there is a specific type of yarn I need and it is not available in stores and needs to be backordered online this process could take a couple weeks. What is your turnaround time? This will depend on how many orders I am working on at a time coupled with balancing my personal life. I do my best to fulfill custom orders within two to three weeks but sometimes things can take longer and it could be a month or two before I finish one project and move on to the next. I am constantly designing and making items for the shop however once I receive a custom order I put the priority on that in order to attempt at a faster turnaround time. Are you taking custom orders? Yes. Please complete the Custom Order Request Form which you can access from the main page of my online store and I will get back to you within 72 hours with a quote. I am able to take about 3-4 custom orders at a time. Where do you ship to? I ship orders all across Canada and the USA. All shipping is FREE! How do I care for my newly purchased item? I always recommend washing on a delicate cycle in cold water with liquid detergent and laying flat to dry. I also suggest washing your crochet or knit item in a cycle with other items that don't have zippers, buttons or other hardware that can catch while in a wash cycle. You can always hand wash the item separately and lay flat to dry but generally the yarn I use can easily withstand a delicate wash cycle in your laundry machine. Keep in mind I will include specific wash instructions with each item I ship out to you. Which do you do more, knit or crochet? I definitely crochet more than I knit. I am also more skilled at crochet than I am at knitting. That is not to say I cannot knit items, however I am more advanced with crochet. If you were to breakdown my time spent between the two I would say 90% of the time I crochet while I only knit about 10% of the time. Majority of the items I sell are crochet but there will be some knit items amongst the inventory. Please keep this in mind when submitting a custom order request. Do you work with any other materials? Yes. I own a Cricut Maker (Die Cutting machine) and Cricut EasyPress 12"x10" and Cricut Heat Press Mini and work primarily with Iron on Vinyl and Infusible Ink sheets and markers. I can customize a tank top, t-shirt, sweater, sweatpants or jeans so feel free to inquire through my Custom Order Request Form if you have a project in mind. I will have some items in my shop that are customized with these materials.
